A Matter of Astronomy
Astronomy, named after the Greek words ‘aster’ (star) and ‘nomos’ (law), means ‘the law of the stars’ and investigates the movements, mergers, evolutions, physical characteristics and interactions of substances of all kinds found in the universe. Since our early ancestors, humans have taken the objects in the sky as references in order to position themselves in the universe and time. Many cosmic events and meteorological changes which seem simple today had gained a meaning through astronomy in the past.
So, we thought we had to make a Mesele out of such an ancient science and prepared a collection with 3 main astronomy symbols which had been used by many civilizations and our ancestors to make sense of life. This collection is made by our craftsman based in the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul. The hand-made symbols, created specifically for Mesele by using malachite and mother of pearl within the sterling silver mount, are coated with 14K micron gold.
