Orbis

Orbis

The corners of the circle... There are no linear lines or corners in nature... Perhaps our inclination towards circular forms is due to our existence, as humans have developed by observing and imitating nature.

The source of everything is the sun, which radiates circular lights... When you throw a stone into water, circles are formed... The sprouts of many plants grow from a circular spiral... When people hold hands, they naturally form a circle... Perhaps the reason why the 12,000-year-old Göbeklitepe or Stonehenge is circular. The first thing that set humanity in motion, i.e. the wheel, is also circular. And, like our constantly rotating world, our eyes that perceive everything on earth are also circular... We all started life in our mother's round belly, and maybe when we were scared or wanted to relax, we rolled up like a ball. Circles have always been with us. When we end a sentence, in a raindrop, on the trunk of a tree, in the planets and stars shining in the sky, at the center of a flower, or in the center of a person's belly button...

In Mesele, which gives meaning to objects with symbols, we have gone back and forth for 10 years and decided to start anew with circles, the ancestor of basic forms. Under the name Orbis, which means sphere in Latin and also represents our perception of it, we have created a very special collection. A new story begins at the center of all these circular symbols born in these lands..
